One way we do this is through the morning announcements/ prayer. What does the school do to recognize the achievements of women? We do this very frequently. If you have any ideas, please contact your child's religion teacher. We are not trying to eliminate the typical chatter and joy after mass, and it should become more natural for everyone after a couple of weeks. After the first mass, there was an unintential solemn mood. This extra moment is a form of prayer that takes real effort from a child it is a small form of Eucharistic Adoration, something we want our students to experience at a Catholic school. It's a child's time simply to be in silent prayer to thank and ador God for his Son and our many blessings. Why the change? Our goal was to have the students show respect for the sacrament we just received, the parishioners, and the students who are still praying. As a parent, I enjoy giving my child a quick hug after mass and saying hi to other parents. The tone after the weekly mass has changed because of the ask for quiet and less socializing. PA plays an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events. By getting involved you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Our administrative team are active members in PA and are present at the monthly meetings. PA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at Lumen Christi. By volunteering with PA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause-your child and all children in the Lumen Christi school community. At the meetings you have an opportunity to share ideas, concerns, and experiences. PA meetings are opportunities to meet with other parents from our school community, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. There’s no better way to know what’s happening at Lumen Christi. But in addition you will find that as a member of PA you will: The number one reason is to benefit your child. There are many benefits in joining our Parent Association. The partnership we have with our many parent volunteers is what makes Lumen Christi such a great place to be! Lumen Christi is grateful for the countless number of volunteers that put forth their time and talent to make these things possible. Our Parent Association (PA) works tirelessly to support our school in countless ways, including financial support through fundraising, providing social activities for our school community, and sponsoring community events like the annual Book Fair. This is made possible in part by the high level of involvement from the families of our students. The mission of Lumen Christi Catholic School Parent Association (PA) is to support the School through volunteer work, funding efforts, parent education, and the sponsoring and coordination of various events hosted within the school community.
